The settlement takes its name from the linden trees (lipa) that are common throughout the area, and it sits in a pleasant stretch of the Gornji Milanovac countryside. The route from Gornji Milanovac to Lipovac follows a local road through typical Sumadija terrain — gently rolling hills covered with a patchwork of fields, orchards, and small woodlands. The road is paved and in fair condition, with two lanes that narrow slightly near the village. Traffic is light and consists mostly of local vehicles. During harvest season you may encounter slow-moving farm equipment on the road, which occasionally forces dangerous overtaking maneuvers from impatient drivers. Autumn is also the season when fallen leaves from the roadside linden and oak trees can make the pavement slippery after rain.
